Straight answers
How do I know if my fork needs a service?
If it feels harsh over small bumps, leaves oil on the stanchions, or makes a noise it didn't used to, it's due. Most forks want a lower leg service every 50 hours of riding and a full damper service once a year. Ride through an Auckland winter and you'll hit that sooner than you think.
What does a fork service cost?
A lower leg service is the entry point — fresh oil, new seals, wiper clean. A full damper rebuild costs more because it strips the whole cartridge. Our Major and Full Bike Service packages include suspension work as part of the job. We'll confirm the price before we start.
How do I know if my dropper needs replacing?
Sticking on the way up, sagging under your weight, or side to side play at the saddle. Some droppers can be serviced and some are cheaper to replace outright. Bring it in and we'll tell you straight which one you're looking at.
Can I fit a dropper myself?
You can, but internally routed cables are fiddly and getting the cable length wrong is the most common way to ruin a new post. We fit droppers as part of the workshop service, cut to length and set up properly.
