KMC Sprocket Checker

A wear indicator for your rear sprockets. Check them regularly, especially before long rides, races and before you replace a chain, to avoid chain slip on worn sprockets.

How to use it

• Works on 12 to 21 tooth sprockets
• Place the checker chain on the sprocket with the round bottom end of the handle between two teeth and the test link angling away from the sprocket
• Apply 10kg (22lb) of force on the handle in the direction of sprocket rotation, then swing the test link onto the sprocket
• If the test link moves easily onto the bottom of the tooth, the sprocket is in good condition
